 This photo was taken in June 2002 in Samye, Tibet (outside of Lhasa) at the annual Cham dance festival. The man was watching the festival from a raised balcony along with the Rimpoche and officials overseeing the event. Somehow my classmate and I managed to wander up to the balcony nad we were invited to watch the event from the reserved seating. This man was amazed by my digital camera as I showed him images that I had captured. I asked if it were alright that I shoot his photo and he struck a stoic pose that was perfect for the photo.
