I came upon this young boy near the village of Chomrong, the first community on the trail leading to Annapurna Base Camp. By himself, he was moving the family cattle out to graze which I thought was quite the responsibility for a boy his age. He was very curious about my camera gear so I setup my telephoto lens so that he could view the surrounding mountains up close. As if to show his gratitude he produced a slinghshot and handed it to me. It consisted of two bamboo sticks crossed and bound by innertubes with innertube slings and a leather pouch. We took turns shooting at various leaves and tree trunks and shared several laughs together. I took a few photos and we parted ways leaving me to ponder the saying about happiness being the journey and not the destination.
