24. Yak Train

Going up towards BAse Camp near the Nangpa Glacier, Nepal. Yaks carried all our equipment and supplies to Base Camp at about 17,400ft just south of the Nangpa glacier. On the way up one of the yaks died from undetermined causes. We compensated the owner $100. The picture was taken using an Olympus OM-1 with a Zuiko 75-150mm zoom lens on our privately organised Cho-Oyu (8201m) Expedition in 1986.
